Balraj Naidu aged 48 a Singaporean was convicted by a United States court of conspiring to purchase weapons for the separatist group Tamil Tigers, Sri Lanka.
Tamil Tigers was announced as a Foreign Terrorist Organization in 1997.
Balraj Naidu tried to buy grenade launchers and other hi tech weapons for the Tamil Tigers, according to the Maryland's US Attorney's Office in a media release.
