Dhanteras is a national level festival in India which is celebrated two days before Diwali and Dhan Teras 2010 is observed on 3 October this year.
Hindus prepare their homes to welcome the Goddess Lakshmi for their prosperity on this day and many will gear up purchasing new clothes and jewels.
