(WBCSC) came into existence on November 02, 1979 in terms of Act LXII of 1978. The two function is to prepare merit panels of candidates eligible for recruitment to the posts of Lecturer in different subjects/disciplines of Arts, Sciences, Social Sciences, Commerce, Education, Physical Education, Foreign Languages, Law, Journalism and Mass Communication, Fine Arts and Music in the Degree Colleges affiliated to Calcutta University, Burdwan University, North Bengal University, Kalyani University and Vidyasagar University.
