Ganesh immersion also called visarjan or nimajjanam ritual usually take place after the 11 days of worshipping the Ganesh idol at home which is on Septmber 22 2010 this year.
Some people follow on the 3rd, 5th or 7th day too. Usually this will be a grand festival taking large Ganesh idols on the street and to the nearby water source to immerse.
This also fantasize children who run all the way to see and wonder how this process takes place.
